A hotelier has been handed a record breaking fine for fire safety offences at a hotel in London. These offences included inadequate fire detection systems, unfit emergency lighting, missing fire doors and no fire risk assessment. Officers served an improvement notice but upon returning they found these improvements had not been made. He was fined.
