A coach is likely to take a more directive approach than a mentor as he wishes to enhance the performance of the business and the individuals within it, and may need to give the organization new ways of thinking and acting. A trainer will be involved in the transfer of new skills either individually or as a group. The skills will often be tested or practiced during the training session so that there is a practical application of theoretical knowledge.
